PING!
Have you ever looked at a Facebook picture and thought, “Man, I wish I could do THAT!”
I mean, who hasn’t?
That was me 5 years ago.
The picture?
My FAVORITE former boss shared about how she changed gears in her career.
She was sitting poolside, drink next to her, laptop open, and captioned how fulfilling her life felt.
I was working at Home Depot as a Department Supervisor and thought, “MAN! I’d LOVE to have a job where I work from home and travel!”
But, I didn’t think I had any skills or education to do it.
Until, the Lord put a calling on my life.
Can you relate?
By age 30, I had:
-Been so broke I had to feed my family out of a change jar
-Doubled my income only to have my bank account stay the same (hello, habits that STAYED the same!)
-Been divorced because money and communication were HUGE issues
-Remarried to the SAME guy 9 months later, once we BOTH gave our lives to Jesus
-Had multiple careers: restaurant, sales, Emergency Medical Technician and retail management
-Moved 11 times in 10 years, living in 6 states
To accomplishing:
-FINALLY working together with my husband on finances, in spite of different views on how to do things
-Becoming debt free
-Having a fully funded emergency fund
I liked my job, but didn’t feel fulfilled.
It wasn’t until I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a post that said I could combine two of my passions: helping people and daily personal finance (Budget nerd here!)
And went from wandering in the wilderness of job unfulfillment to learning about financial coaching. I felt the Holy Spirit tap me on the shoulder and say, “THIS is what I want you to do!”
Looking back, all of those hurdles were stepping stones to the life we’ve created today.
Now, I GET to step into my beautifully decorated home office, work outside in the hammock, and be fulfilled daily because I GET to help you:
-Go from being stressed and anxious about money to confident and relaxed in managing your finances
-Ignite your vision for your future and finances, make bite sized goals to get there, and develop discipline to stay on track
-Transform how you think and feel about money, so you have new mindsets, habits, and behaviors that break generational patterns
All while pointing people to Jesus!
I know with social media it’s easy to play the comparison game.
I did!
